Google AdWords becomes Google Ads

There are many ways on the internet to reach potential customers and buyers. Google is now trying to make it a little easier for advertisers and is therefore reorganizing its advertising tools. “DoubleClick Digital Marketing” and the “Google Analytics 360 Suite” are being brought together and bundled as “Google Marketing Platform”. The name is changing too: the familiar “AdWords” becomes “Google Ads”.

Google Ads adapts to the times

And why did Google do that? Because many new ad formats have emerged.
People now look at small smartphone displays and no longer at large CRT monitors. So alongside regular text ads there are now also responsive ads (which adapt to the screen resolution) or, for example, ad placements on YouTube. The new name “Google Ads” is meant to reflect this range better.

And smaller companies in particular are supposed to be able to place ads easily with the offer and the new “Smart Campaigns”. Google promises ad placement “in a few minutes”. Artificial intelligence is also supposed to help with image selection, for example. These “Smart Campaigns” are available in the USA with immediate effect; the rest of the world is to follow by the end of the year.
